4 Power-Up

Up to 10 shortlisted entries will go through a 2-day workshop to put you in the best place for the pitch.

Your idea is just the starting point. The goal of this workshop is to take your idea and the team through a journey to bring clarity to your mission and unlock the potential of your business model.

You'll be taken through this journey by The Australian Centre for Social Innovation's (TACSI) directors of business innovation and co-design who have tried and tested this model of support with government, NGO's and social enterprises across Australia.

To be held 29th of September and 7th of October 2014, shortlisted applicants will need to attend these workshops.

5 The pitch

One month later shortlisted entries will pitch their ideas to the judging panel. The panel details will be provided soon. Planned for mid November 2014.

6 The prize

There is up to 100k in grants from Office for the Ageing and 6 months of expert coaching in business models and co-design from TACSI up for grabs.

7 Support

The winning teams are taken through a rigorous support process over 6 months to develop their business model including: understanding their customers, what they value, developing their theory of change and creating a sustainable business model. In the process they will learn about design thinking, lean start up and other innovation tools and frameworks.

We're looking for great ideas in response to one of the two following questions.

How can we enable Boomers to connect, contribute to their communities and live the lives they want?

How can we enable older people living alone to connect, contribute to their communities and live the lives they want?

Who's behind this?

The Office for the Ageing is committed to enabling older South Australians to meet their needs and achieve their aspirations, and The Australian Centre for Social Innovation is an organisation striving to build a culture of innovation for older people in Australia.
